Curious about augmented reality? Grab your lunch and take a moment to learn something new! Each video is approximately 10 minutes.
Below, Meron Gribetz (2016), discusses and shows the the Meta 2, an augmented reality headset that makes it possible for users to see, grab and move holograms just like physical objects.
Florian Radke (2017), also from Meta, an AR company, talks about how Augmented reality is not a toy, it’s a powerful tool that will help solve some of the worlds biggest problems. According to him, if we do it right, it can be the next great platform for education, human connection and productivity.
As you listen to and evaluate what the speakers are saying, consider whether your critiques are derived from personal experience with AR technologies. If not, we invite you to experience them during the 2017-2018 academic year — starting with a small sample of immersive technologies at the upcoming Digital Research Fair on Friday, September 22 in the Weigle Information Commons Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center from 1 – 3 pm.
We hope to see you there!
