One of the aims of PennImmersive is to provide opportunities for the Penn community to try a variety of technologies ranging from entry-level to advanced. In an ideal world, we’ll also offer people with the chance to create content as well.
Google Cardboard
We held our first Google Cardboard workshops for an intrepid bunch. We reviewed several apps, created 360-photos, and a short 360-video using the Ricoh Theta S camera that you can borrow from the Vitale Digital Media Lab. Based on participants’ helpful feedback, we are revising our cardboard workshops and will post the second iteration sessions as well as our lesson plans soon. Expect new workshops in September and beyond. (See more photos.)

Mobile Augmented Reality
In addition, we will also hold our first workshop using Zap.Works on Aug. 9 at 10 am in Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center to create bite-sized mobile augmented reality experiences. As always, discussion and critiques will be part of the session. We hope to see you there!
